Introduction of cyclone separator
The main function of the cyclone separator equipment is to remove
the solid particles and droplets carried in the conveyed gas as far
as possible, to achieve gas-solid-liquid separation, to ensure the
normal operation of the pipeline and equipment, in the west-east
gas transmission project, the cyclone separator is a more important
equipment. Industrial applications of cyclones generally fall into
four broad categories: control of air pollution, process equipment,
as pre-separator units, and removal of liquid cargoes from gases.
As a process equipment, it is also often used in conjunction with
other drying, cooling, and grinding systems. It can also be used as
a receiver for material products in pneu- matic conveying systems.
It has the characteristics of simple structure, convenient
operation, low price and high efficiency.

Structure design of cyclone separator
The cyclone separator adopts vertical cylinder structure, which is
divided into liquid collection area, cyclone separation area and
purification chamber area along the axial direction. The inner
cyclonic component is evenly arranged in the circular direction and
fixed through the upper and lower tube plates; The equipment adopts
skirt support, and the head adopts high pressure resistant oval
head.
Matching flanges, bolts, gaskets, etc. are provided at the pipe
ports of the equipment.
Generally, the gas inlet design is divided into three forms:
a) Upper intake air
b) Central intake
c) Lower intake
Cyclone separator adopts integral vertical structure, small size
and light weight. The vertical layout of the cyclone tube is
divided into three independent studios by two horizontal
partitions. For the convenience of internal inspection, each studio
is provided with a separate individual hole or hand hole. The
cyclone separator comprises a shell part, an intake air, an outlet
air, a vent, a separation unit, a manhole, a hand hole, an
artificial dust cleaning and a valve-controlled dust outlet, a leg
and other structures.

Engineering Application of cyclone separator
The cyclone separator is suitable for purifying non-viscous,
non-fibrous dry dust larger than 1-3 microns. It is a kind of
purification equipment with simple structure, easy operation, high
temperature resistance, high equipment cost and high resistance (80
~ 160 mm water column), and cyclone dust collector is the most
widely used in purification equipment. The improved cyclone
separator can replace the exhaust gas filtration equipment in some
units.

Characteristic of cyclone separator
The main characteristics of the cyclone separator are simple
structure, high operating flexibility, high efficiency, convenient
management and maintenance, low price, used to capture dust with a
diameter of 5 ~ 10μm or more, widely used in the pharmaceutical
industry, especially suitable for coarse dust particles, large dust
concentration, high temperature and high pressure conditions, and
often used as a fluidized bed reactor internal separation device.
Or used as a pre-separator. However, its separation efficiency for
fine dust particles (such as diameter <5μm) is low, and the fine
powder separation efficiency can only reach 70% to 90%. In order to
improve the dust removal efficiency and reduce the resistance,
there have been many kinds of cyclone separators, such as spiral,
spiral, bypass, diffusion, swirl and multi-tube.
